://of scissors and shredded hearts//:
t-shirt sits shredded
not to be worn again
‘I push a vacuum for the Lord’
(shirt read. congregation laughs) – but no more
for
tonight my jovial God is dead – or hidden
and this shirt was really just a joke for an
affable almighty
tonight I read of natural disasters
directly after
I heard the torment of cancer orphans
and read resounding ‘Why’s’ -
if You’re so wise
and the heavens throb with answers
then You are more unpredictable
- more fearsome
than I gave You credit –
so
please accept this offering of
my bleeding heart and
shredded
t-shirt

did you actually shred the t-shirt...dang, I liked it.
God isn't a nice guy. sometimes I dont think he's good either.
God can be a nice guy, and he's certainluy good.
I think that in situations like this we need to remember how valuable humans are... worthless. God values us, but we are not valuable.
I ask why too all the time, though.
it's a human thing to do. Yeah, I actually shredded the t-shirt. It's in a shredded pile in my back room. I fully believe that God is good. I just needed to do something to express this gut ripping lack of understanding.
